The lyophilized fiber of recombinant humanized type III collagen independently developed by Shanxi Jinbo Bio-pharmaceutical Co., Ltd. stood out from 18 candidate projects and won the "Top Ten Advances in Chinese Medicinal Biotechnology" in 2021.

On June 29, 2021, the " Lyophilized Fiber of Recombinant Humanized Type III Collagen " was approved by NMPA for listing and is used for facial dermis tissue filling to correct the dynamic wrinkles on the forehead. It is the first medical appliance independently developed by China using a new biological material - recombinant humanized collagen, laying a good foundation for the clinical application and industrial transformation of related materials.

Recombinant humanized type III collagen has the following characteristics:

First, the repeating unit of its amino acid sequence is the same as the specific functional region of human collagen amino acid sequence, and has good biocompatibility;

Second, its functional region has a 164.88 ° flexible triple helix structure, and the relevant structural data have been included in the international protein structure database;

Third, it has higher cell adhesion than that of human collagen type I and III, forms a reticular fiber structure, has good repair characteristics, and has a broader clinical application in vascular endothelium, endometrium, wound, oral mucosa repair, and orthopedics.

The technology of recombinant humanized type III collagen is a major breakthrough in scientific research achievements made by the Fudan University-Jinbo Functional Protein Joint Research Center, the Sichuan University-Jinbo Functional Protein Joint Laboratory, and the Chongqing Medical University-Jinbo Humanized Collagen New Material Clinical Research Center after 14 years of close cooperation and continuous research. This technology has accumulated the wisdom of many Chinese academicians and scientists, successfully broken the core technology bottleneck in the field of collagen, and achieved the industrialization of humanized collagen for the first time in the world, filling the international gap in the field.

As the first "humanized" new biological material independently developed in China, recombinant humanized collagen can form the advantages of the whole industrial chain of modularization, customization, scale and systematization through its unique technological path, serving the whole human life cycle and all human beings, and is an important achievement and major breakthrough in the field of new biological materials in China.
